Consultation over the DMP Inspectors Preliminary Findings

We need as many people as possible to make submissions

Although we are very pleased indeed that the Planning Inspector is recommending that almost all of Speckled Wood should be included in the area designated as protected urban green space, we now know that the developer who owns the land next to Victoria Avenue is going to object to this site losing its development status.

There is a public consultation period running until 27 March in response to the DMP Examination findings and it is very important that as many people as possible submit their support for the deletion of the two currently designated development sites:
CV01 – next to Victoria Ave
& CV03 – behind School Road

This is a formal process and the responses MUST be submitted in writing and in accordance with the guidance set out in the Council’s DMP planning notification. Petitions and other comments will NOT be counted.

A copy of the guidance and references is available or details can be found on the Hastings Borough Council web site.

Please make a formal submission of support for the Planning Inspectors recommendations – MM8 and MM9 – and encourage anyone else who supports the campaign to save Speckled Wood to do so.
