Our aims

Ore Community Land Trust seeks to protect land in the Upper Ore Valley to save and enhance urban woodland and green space for community use and to protect animal habitat. We, therefore, campaign against development plans that would threaten the environment of the Valley. We also support positive regeneration plans and put forward ideas for improvements for the area.

Annual General Meeting 2018

We held our AGM on 29th September at the Salvation Army Hall in Old London Road. It was very well-attended. Our outgoing chair, Tony Polain, reiterated the need for more volunteers to come forward if we are to achieve our aims of not only preserving Speckled Wood but also of making it more accessible to local residents. Tony presented the Annual Report which you can download below. Read more

Questionnaire on Speckled Wood

ESCC Better TogetherWe recently received some funding from East Sussex County Council’s ‘East Sussex Better Together’ initiative to do a survey on how the community uses, and what it would like for, the Speckled Wood area. It is vital that we know your opinions on Speckled Wood, so please fill in the survey from the link below if you haven’t done so already. It can be done anonymously, and will not take up much time as most people so far have completed it in a few minutes.

Speckled Wood survey

Hard copies are available if you don’t want to do it online. Please share to others – especially if they live in the Ore area or use Speckled Wood. If you have a hard copy to fill in already, we can either pick them up from you, or please put it in our postbox at the Ore community centre, thank you!
